It’s been a while-I am not the most up to date blogger out there. Lots has happened since I last blogged the biggest being that I got contacts. Yeah! I cant’ believe the difference! It’s amazing!
Work is going good-trying to get all the extra time possible. So I’ll be working some serious Sundays this fall. We are converting to a different thing this fall. Use to be a rubber stamp stamped on the front page of the book. Then we all went to computers and bar codes. The next generation is called RFID-Radio Frequency ID. Instead of swiping each book individually through the reader we simple place the whole stack under the reader and it’s done. It’s going to be an interesting transition and I am so happy to be involved in this. We’ve been hearing from the bosses to “Weed, weed, weed!” If you didn’t know better you would think they were talking about something beyond removing all the old, yucky, dirty, broken books from our shelves!
Chris and I have a vacation planned for September 3-5. Very, very excited about this trip. Started planning this back in June or so. And the joke was made that we needed to watch for hurricanes! We’re headed for Galveston and it looks like so may be Gustav! I haven’t made any reservations yet so we’ll see where Hurricane Gustav lands and what damage he does. The only problem is that we don’t have a back-up plan!
